The article was about a real-life group of teenage girls who were essentially a gang known as the Bling Ring. The Bling Ring is a film that was born from an article by Nancy Jo Sales called The Suspects Wore Louboutins. She won an Academy Award for the script of Lost in Translation. Sofia is a renowned filmmaker in her own right and has directed The Virgin Suicides and Lost in Translation. Sofia is the daughter of famed filmmaker Francis Ford Cappola.
The film was written and directed by Sofia Cappola. Fans of Emma Watson and her work will have a week left to watch it. However, the film is set to be leaving the streaming platform on January 17th. One such film is The Bling Ring, which is currently streaming on Netflix. The Bling Ring is based on the true story of a bunch of teenagers who's stolen celebrities such as Paris Hilton when they weren't home. Sofia Coppola hits the croisette with the female star from the Harry Potter's movies, Emma Watson. Just three years after Somewhere – who won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival –, The Bling Ring premiered in may 2013 during the Cannes International Film Festival, opening the competition Un Certain Regard.
